Abelardo M. Rangel Sr.

Abelardo M. Rangel Sr., age 93 of Seguin, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2025. 

A man of very strong faith and most truly loved by all who knew him. Abelardo always reminisced about his years growing up here in Seguin to anyone who wanted to sit, talk and have a drink. Always talking about his love for baseball and the many memorable games he played. He was also known for playing pool and always making everyone laugh and having a great time. 

Abelardo is preceded in death by his wife Manuela Rangel which would have been together for 73 years of marriage on February 11, 2025, parents, grandparents and his sons Raymond "Moe" Rangel, Ernest "Neto" Rangel, Raul "Gully" Rangel and Abel Jr. & Minerva Rangel (daughter in-law) and his grandson's Michael Rangel and David "Black Duck" Rangel and great grandson, Giovanni Zane Davila.

Survivors include his son Robert & wife Dolores Rangel, daughters, Dorelia & husband Oscar Martinez, Norma & husband Ben Davila, Erma D. Rangel, Yolanda "Deedee" Rangel and Adela Rangel (daughter in-law). 34 grandchildren, 75 great grandchildren, 19 great-great grandchildren and 1 great-great-great grandchild. 

"Abel you will be missed by so many but will live in our hearts forever." 

Visitation will be held at Palmer Mortuary on Monday, February 17, 2025 from 4pm to 8pm with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:30pm. 

A Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 10:30am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and interment will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery.
