Abelardo Rangel, Jr., of Seguin, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2017 at the age of 64. He was born in Seguin, Texas on January 7, 1953 to Manuela (Silva) and Abelardo Rangel, Sr.
He is preceded in death by his mother Manuela, brothers, Raymond "Moe" Rangel and Ernest Rangel, Sr.; and nephew, Michael Rangel.
Survivors include his wife, Minerva "Mini" H. Rangel, children, David Rangel, Sr., Denise Rangel and spouse David, Adrian and Jessica Rangel; grandchildren, Liane Herrera and spouse Aurora, David Rangel, Jr., and spouse Gracie, Alyssa Guerrero, Valarie and Brandi Rangel, Jazlyn, Jared, and Jason Jr., Gil, Brittany, Sierra and Kayla Castillo; 13 great grandchildren; his father Abelardo, Sr., siblings, Raul, Dorelia and Yolanda Rangel, Robert Rangel and spouse Dolores, Erma Rangel Davila, Norma Davila and spouse Ben, and as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Abel was a hardworking carpenter that built cabinets his whole life. He enjoyed playing softball for many years, even in his 50's. He also loved camping, fishing and gambling at the Lucky Eagle Casino. He will be missed by those that knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held at Palmer Mortuary Chapel on Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church (409 W. Krezdorn St., Seguin, TX 78155) on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 10:30 a.m., with a Burial to follow at Santo Tomas Cemetery.
