Antonio V. Gaitan known to most as "Tony or Rawhide" of Seguin, passed on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at the age of 87. He was born in Staples, Texas on January 3, 1932 to Procoro and Maria Gaitan.
Antonio is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Manuel Gaitan, and Theodoro Gaitan; sisters, Cruz Rios and Margaret Strong. He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Gaitan; sons, Daniel R. (Shiryl) Gaitan, Roy Gaitan; daughters, Estella (Tommy) Leal, Yolanda († Felix) Gutierrez, Velia (Elias) Tovar, Lottie Gaitan and Patricia Gaitan; brother, Enrique (Adela) Gaitan; sisters, Gela (Manuel) Martinez, Julia Villarreal, Carmen Stovall, Isabel (Gilbert) Resendez, Geneva Del Toro and Vicenta Creel; grandchildren, Danielle, Colton, Alexandria, Haden, Seth, Leticia, Adam, Felix III, Jacob, Ruben, Anna, Stephanie, Manuel, Jessica and Taylor; great-grandchildren, Ezekiel, Malachi, Ruby, Ethan, Logan, Matthew, Gabriella, Bronson, Callen, Rouk, Amelia, Gabriella, Valerie, Ruben Gabriel, Roman, Ricco, Adaiah, Aubrey, Anaya, Gavin, Bryce and Mikayla and numerous of other family and friends.
Antonio was a very hard working man who enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Antonio enjoyed being outdoors especially riding his tractor. He enjoyed swimming, barbecuing and enjoyed telling jokes. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Delia Enriquez for all of the care given to Antonio. It was said that he stole her heart during the time they spent together.
A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, March 29, 2019, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. at Palmer Mortuary Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at San Geronimo Cemetery.
