Armando Chief De La Garza passed away on October 23, 2010. He was born in Seguin, Texas on November 11, 1958. He is preceded in death by his father David De La Garza Sr., brother Adolfo De La Garza and nephew Michael De La Garza.
He is survived by his mother Grace De La Garza, brothers, Danny De La Garza and SisternLaw Carolyn De La Garza, David De La Garza, Jr. and Dora, Juan De La Garza, Reynaldo De La Garza and wife Etsy, James De La Garza and Janie, Ricky De La Garza and Leticia, Edward De La Garza and Cynthia, Ernest De La Garza and Nena, sisters, Haydee Davila and husband Edward, Esther De La Garza and John Valdez.
Armando was a well known musician who has performed with artists such as Carlos Guzman, Blackjack and David Lee Garza, he has made several recordings with David, Tiempo and various other bands. Armando was inducted into the Tejano Music Hall of Fame in San Antonio and McAllen, Texas. He was Given the Key to Alice, Texas. Armando was also given one of ten Les Paul United States of America Guitars.
Visitation will be held at Palmer Mortuary Chapel on Monday, October 25, 2010 from 4 9 pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7 pm. The Mass will held Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 10 am., Interment to follow in San Geronimo Cemetery
