Augustina "Tina" M. Luna, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and respected member of her church community, passed away peacefully at her home on August 8, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Juan Luna Sr., her 3 children Juan Jr., Amy Lopez (Juan), Michael Luna (Erin), and stepson Robert Garcia (Rosa); 8 grandchildren Jessica Luna (Michael Jaeger), Jasmine Lopez (Daniel Ramirez-Herrera), Christi Lannan (CJ), Michael A. Luna (Maria Juarez), Josiah Luna (Valerie), Mica Luna, Robert Garcia Jr., and John Paul Garcia, as well as 12 great grandchildren.
Born in Seguin, Texas on July 11, 1946, she touched the lives of many and left an unforgettable mark on all who knew her. She was a pillar of strength and faith throughout her life. She dedicated herself to her family and her faith, always offering a kind word, a warm meal, or a helping hand to those in need. Her deep commitment to her family was evident in the way she raised her children, nurtured her grandchildren, and embraced the role of great-grandmother with unparalleled joy and love.
Although her education was limited, Tina accomplished great things through her service to Our Lady of Guadalupe church. She devoted countless roles and hours to service over the years, from CCD teacher to President of the Guadalupanas, and was actively involved with Cursillistas, demonstrating exemplary leadership in various capacities, such as lector and church administrative duties. She was known for her unwavering faith, and her ability to uplift the spirits of all who knew her. Her compassion, wisdom, and grace touched the lives of many, and her presence will be deeply missed.
The memories Tina created with her loved ones will forever be treasured, and her legacy of love and faith will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Services to honor and celebrate Tina's life will be held on August 14, 2024 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. The visitation will begin at 9:00 AM followed by a the recitation of the Holy Rosary by the Guadalupanas at 10:00 AM and a Mass at 10:30 AM all services will conclude Wednesday at the church.
In this time of grief, may we find solace in the beautiful memories Tina bestowed upon us and may her spirit of love and generosity continue to inspire us all. Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort in knowing that Tina is at peace, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her, and resting in the arms of the Lord she so faithfully served. May her soul rest in eternal peace. Your light will forever shine brightly in our hearts.
