Auralia “Lala” Sanchez of Seguin Texas, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at the age of 80. She was born on December 9, 1943, to Matias and Lorenza Luna in Marion, Texas.
Auralia is preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Sanchez; her parents, Matias and Lorenza Luna; her daughter, Sandra L. Buckner.
She is survived by her sons, Marty Sanchez (Stephanie Trevino) of Seguin, Texas, Jerrold and Connie Sanchez of Kyle, Texas, Israel and Patricia Sanchez of San Antonio, Texas; granddaughters, Stephanie Buckner of Deer Park, Texas, Sandra Sanchez of San Marcos, Texas, Elliana Sanchez of Rosenburg, Texas; grandsons, John Buckner of Austin, Texas, Adrian and Andria Sanchez of San Marcos, Texas and Damien Sanchez of San Antonio, Texas; sisters, Felicia Hardeman (Wille Garza) and Maggie Hernandez, both of San Marcos, Texas; brother, Cecilio Luna of Seguin, Texas; as well as great grandchildren Amanda, Julian and Cassie of Deer Park, Texas and a host of other family and friends.
Lala was the dining room manager at the Uvalde Country Club for over twenty years. After her retirement, her and her husband returned back to Seguin, Texas where she continued food service with Seguin Independent School District for over ten years. She was a full-time mother, wife, and grandmother that was always committed to family. She had a passion for dancing and loved attending local dances with friends and family. Lala always carried herself with confidence and elegance. After the challenges she faced throughout the years, she taught her family the importance of being strong, being patient and being considerate. Everything that was thrown her way, she fought and showed those close to her that she was always ready for a fight. Her strength was amazing. She was and will continue to be an inspiration to her family.
Pall bearers will be Jesse Sanchez, James Sanchez, Adrian Sanchez, Secilio Luna, Julian Austin and Joseph Boyd.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at Palmer Mortuary. A Funeral Mass will be on Friday, April 5, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church interment following at San Geronimo Cemetery.
