Aurelio Marez

Aurelio Marez, our beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on December 1, 2022 at the age of 66. He was born on August 6, 1956 in Seguin, Texas to Aurelio Marez Sr. and Adelfa (Hernandez).

Dad was a hard worker who provided for his wife and children. He was a good dad who taught us how to fish (even cleaning fish in the condo and breaking the garbage disposal before noticing the “NO CLEANING FISH IN CONDO” sign). He taught us how to do jigsaw puzzles. He would throw the baseball around with us. We have so many wonderful memories we will always carry in our hearts. Dad would get in the swimming pool, and of course drink some beer with us. He was an amazing grandpa. He was really close to the grandkids. He’d walk the dogs with Delilah, joke around with Levi, Nano and Zach, go see Nana in her ROTC performances, watch TV with Jullius and buy him Hot Fries everyday, sneak Jax cookies, when his parents weren’t looking and tickling Zekes feet (waking him up) when he’d spend the night. He loved being around and visiting with his family. Not only his children and grandchildren, but his cousins, aunts, uncles and such. I’m sure you all have your own memories with him too! He will be deeply missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Aurelio Sr. and Adelfa Marez; son, Aurelio Marez III; brothers, Luis Marez, Zaragoza Marez, Ricky Marez, and Pete Alfred Maciel; and sister, Mary Marmolejo.

Survivors include, his wife, Lupe Marez of 46 years; sister, Carmen Castillo (Jesse); brother, Adam Marez; his children, Refugio Marez, Rebecca Marez, Michael Marez, Gabriel Marez (Amanda), Racheal George, and Ursula Monarca; his grandchildren, Jonathan Guia, Ezequiel Arriaga, Jeremiah Villarreal, Jonathan George, Arianna George, Jullius Marez, Delilah Limón, Reyna Selvera, Levi Rodriguez, and Jax Marez; great-granddaughter, Arianna Guia. He has numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews as well.

Visitation will be at Palmer Mortuary on Monday, December 12, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. a Memorial Service will be at 3:00 p.m. all services will conclude in the Palmer Mortuary Chapel on Monday evening and a private cremation will follow soon after.
