Candelario Candy Ortiz Jr., age 67, of Seguin, passed away on February 18, 2014 in Seguin. Candy was born in Seguin Texas on December 2, 1946.
He is preceded in death by his mother Consuelo Ortiz.
Candy is survived by his children Son, Candelario Jr. Ortiz III Daughters, Kristine Ortiz, Vannessa Pezzatta and Husband Don, Tanya Neumann, Brandi Afflerbach and Husband Scott. Brother, Johnny Peachy Ortiz and Wife Emma, Sisters, Oralia LaLa Villanueva and Husband Gilbert Beto, and Mary Adame and Husband Eddie. Grandchildren, Dana Neumann, Brandon Molina, Sam and Victoria Pezzatta, Alaina and Sean Afflerbach, and Dominic Diamant. Great Grand Daughter Ayla Grace Terry. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Candy enjoyed life and could often be seen at Starke Park with his beloved dog Butter. He was always laughing and had a smile on his face and was a friend to everyone. Candy worked for many years at Holy FarmsTyson as an Equipment Operator. He was well known as a bartender at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Candy played softball in Seguin for years and umpired games years later. He had a generous heart, volunteering for over five years with the Seguin Food Bank.
Family will receive visitors beginning at 5:00 pm on Monday, February 24, 2014 at Palmer Mortuary in Seguin. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm following visitation.
To honor Candy, the family requests, that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his name to Seguin Food Bank. They accept both nonperishable food andor monetary donations payable to: Seguin Emergency Food Pantries 767 S. Saunders St. Seguin, TX 78155.
