Clothilde Armstrong

September 8, 1921 — April 20, 2015

Clothilde "Tillie" Armstrong, 93, of Seguin, Texas passed away on Monday, April 20, 2015, at her daughter's home, surrounded by family and friends.

Clothilde was born on September 8, 1921 in Port Arthur, Texas to C.F. and Lilian Courville and had two sisters, Odette and Alfa. She had many wonderful memories of a simple, but happy childhood. She graduated from High School in Basile, LA. She married Curtis C. Armstrong, Sr., and they resided in the Golden Triangle area where they raised their three children, Curtis Armstrong Jr., Keith Armstrong and Deborah Armstrong; in the Catholic Faith.

She and Curtis retired and relocated to a home on Lake Placid, in Seguin, where they spent many happy years experiencing the joy of lakeside living. Tillie was known for her, "open door policy," that she extended to family and friends. "If you are coming to see me, you are welcome any time. If you are coming to see my house, make an appointment!" Her feisty, humorous and thoughtful spirit was infectious. She had a knack for endearing other as lifelong friends by reaching out to them with cards, phone calls and welcomed visits any time of the day or night - from friends such as, Cliff and Debbie Lehmann and their sons, Todd and Nick; in which they quickly became like family to her. She often referred to Debbie and Cheryl Brietzke as her other daughters.

Tillie (Mimi), was a doting, selfless mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She adored her precious family and never missed an opportunity to celebrate holidays, birthdays or school programs.

Clothilde is survived by her children, Curtis Armstrong Jr., and Deborah Armstrong; grandsons, Sean Armstrong, Drue Placette and wife Jessica; great grandchildren, Payten, Sean and Liam Placette; sister, Alfa Startz and canine companions, Maxie and Prissy.

Our family will be eternally grateful for the excellent, loving care Tillie received from, family, friends, Advantage Home Health, GRMC Hospice; especially to Mona Pantoja and her staff - the care and support that you showed were a lifeline to us, Tillie would have already sent you a, "Thank You," card.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
