David Alaniz Ruiz peacefully passed away October 2, 2015 at the age of 84.
David was born August 7, 1931 in Whitsett, Texas to Juanita Alaniz and Isidro Ruiz. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, wife Dominga Estrada Ruiz, son David Ruiz Jr.
David is survived by his brother, Cecilo Garcia of Salem, Oregon, children Dora Ruiz-Thomas and Speedy DeLaGarza, son Daniel Ruiz his wife Yolanda; grandchildren, David Lee Cervantes his wife Dolores, Dennis Lee Cervantes his fiancé Amber, Hannah Marie Ruiz her Fiancé Jason, Mary Lee Cervantes, and Daniel Marcos Ruiz, six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
David worked for Gutierrez Construction and Glen Kirkland as a painter for many years. He enjoyed listening and singing music, dancing with his wife, playing Loteria, fishing with family and gardening. David loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, He was often heard saying "Somos una famila muy chicita, pero muy unida, con muncho amor," "We are a small family, but very united, with lots of love."
Visitation will be Tuesday Oct. 6 at Palmer Mortuary, 1116 N. Austin Street, Seguin, at 5 p.m. with a rosary service to follow at 7 p.m. presided by Deacon Nick Carrillo. A mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 409 W Krezdorn St, Seguin, TX 78155. Interment will follow at 12:45 p.m. at Loma Alta Cemetery, CR 330, Kenedy, TX 78119, in Kenedy Texas.
Serving as Pallbears will be David Cervantes, Dennis Cervantes, Daniel Ruiz, Paul Justice, Claudio Torres and Rodney Jaramillo.
