Della Sims

Della Lorene Sims was born on October 18, 1948 to James Frederick Gray and Elsie Lorraine Gray in Greencastle, Indiana. Della was educated in the Greencastle Independent School District. After high school, Della was employed as a farm hand, a waitress and a homemaker. Della had 5 brothers, Chip, Aaron, David, Dean, and Charles; and 6 sisters, Crystal, Anna, Jamie, Paula, Jody, and Jennifer. Della loved the outdoors and loved her dogs and cats.

Della married James Earl Sims. To this union was born 4 children, Matthew, Amy, Vanessa, and Patricia.

Della was preceded in death by her parents; James and Elsie Gray; Daughter, Amy Sims Page, and son, Matthew Sims.

Della leaves to cherish her memories by her loving and caring husband, James; Daughters, Patricia Long and Vanessa Sommer; Sisters, Jody Flanagan, Crystal Woods, Anna Gray, Jamie Gray, and Paula (Justin) Gray Allen; Brothers, James (Susan) Gray, David (Sue) Gray, Dean (Lisa Re’Nee) Gray, Charles Gray, Aaron Gray; Grandchildren, Heidi Sims, James D. Sims, Carolyn Page, and Crystal Page, 9 nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and many relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday September 13, 2019  at 7:00 P. M. at Friendship Community Church 1204 Payton Gin Road Austin, Texas 78758
