Dr. Elsik

March 7, 1928 — January 1, 2016

Dr. Leroy Elsik, of Seguin, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 1, 2016, at the age of 87. He was born in Frelsburg, Texas to Henry and Sabina (Glueck) Elsik.

Dr. Elsik (also known as "Doc" or "Popa") joined the U.S. Army. He was a medic and served in the Pacific Theatre of WWII at Tokyo General, where he found his passion for the healing arts.

Dr. Elsik then went on to attend Texas Lutheran University, and later built his clinic in front of the campus, where he practiced chiropractic care for 59 years.

While completing his degree at Texas Chiropractic College, which was in San Antonio, Texas at the time, he would meet a beautiful and intelligent young lady named Isabel. She would become the love of his life.

Dr. Elsik was one of the Founding Fathers of TCC when it moved to Pasadena, Texas.

He served on the Board of Regents and also was Chairman of the Board for several years. He was given a Lifetime Achievement Award for all of his years of service to the college.

Dr. Elsik had a gift and vision for business and loved developing land, ranching, selling real estate, and had a true love for nature. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He had a passion for his ranch, which brought him much joy and he shared that with his family. They always knew that he was a "man's man," a true Texan, and always did things, as he said, "My Way!"

He was most proud of his family, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were blessed and fortunate to have spent this past Christmas with him.

Special Thanks to: Dr. Thomas Raetzsch, Dr. Bryan Hambric, Advanced Home Health, Sandor Trigueros, Monica Bell, Don Baer, Pastor Tom Jones, Tavie Erwin and Guadalupe Regional Medical Center Doctors, Nurses, and Staff.
