Dr. Ronald Edward Marcotte, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2015 at the age of 75. He was born August 27, 1939, in Taunton, Massachusetts, to Theodore Joseph Marcotte and Ruth Emma Schindelwig.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Theodore Joseph Marcotte Jr.
He graduated with a PhD from the University of Florida in 1968. He was a professor of Physical Chemistry at Texas A&I in Kingsville (Texas A&M University-Kingsville) for 35 years. During this time he received the Texas A&I Distinguished Teaching Award in 1986, the Olan Kruse Science Faculty Award in 2002, and was advisor of the ACS student affiliates. He retired to Seguin, TX in 2005.
Survivors include his wife of over 50 years, Clara Mae Marcotte, son Edward Michael Marcotte and wife Cynthia, grandchildren Elinor and Nicolas; brother Ken Marcotte and wife Anna, sister-in-law Ruth Staton and husband Larry, sister-in-law Elsie Goldsmith and husband Harold, sister in law Maria Marcotte, and many beloved cousins.
Visitation will be held at Palmer Mortuary, on Friday June 26, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held at San Geronimo Cemetery, on Saturday June 27, at 10:00 a.m.
