Gilbert Chuco Reyes Moreno was born June 28, 1954 in Yorktown, Texas. He was one of 13 children born to Manuel and Esperanza Moreno Sr. They moved to Seguin in 1966.
In November of 1996, he was diagnosed with multiple melanoma. He was then predicted not to see the new year. Refusing to accept this, he was taken to MD Anderson for treatment in Houston, Texas. He survived a bone marrow transplant and God let us keep him for 13 more years.
Chuco is preceded in death by his mother, Esperanza Moreno in 1969 and his father Manuel Moreno, Sr. in 1972.
Survivors include his wife, Maria Louisa Moreno; three stepchildren, Gilbert Garcia, Jr., Estella Garcia John Garcia from Seguin, Texas; three sons, Gilbert Moreno, Jr. from Atlanta, Georgia, Brian Moreno Brandon Hardin from San Diego, California; two daughters, Michelle Lake husband Eric from Austin, Texas and Kristin Moreno from San Diego, California; four grandchildren two great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Other survivors include four brothers, Domingo Moreno wife Delia, Manuel Moreno Jr. wife Mary, Daniel Moreno wife Delia, Ruben Moreno all from Seguin, Texas; eight sisters, Christine Rosales husband Santos from Corpus Christi, Texas, Adelina Moreno from Seguin, Texas, Amelia Alonzo from Corpus Christi, Texas, Esperanza Hope Flores husband Ray from San Jacinto, California, Celia Macias from Port LaVaca, Texas, Henrietta Ricky Sanchez husband Felipe from Corpus Christi, Texas, Gloria Ybarra Richard Garza from Lubbock, Texas, and Lydia Villarreal husband Roberto from San Antonio, Texas.
Chuco left us to be with the Lord on March 12, 2009.
