Gloria Basave

Gloria Gaytan Basave of Seguin, Texas entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 17, 2020 at the age of 66. She was raised by her parents Eluterio and Guadalupe Gaytan and was born on March 22, 1954 in Seguin, Texas.

Gloria was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed family time and having family over at her home. Anytime anyone came to visit her she was extremely hospitable and always made sure you were well taken care of. She loved cooking and she always went out of her way to make sure her children and family had what they needed. She did what she could to help others even if it meant giving the shirt off her back. Gloria will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.

Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, Eluterio and Guadalupe Gaytan and her husband of 52 years of marriage Pedro F. Basave.

She is survived by her children, Pete Basave, Alberto Basave, Guadalupe Basave and Eluterio Basave; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Basave, Pete Basave III and Bryanna Basave; great- grandchildren, Matthew Felan and Zander Davila; her siblings, Nettie Jimenez, Belia Vega, Janie Treviño and Arturo Gaytan. Gloria is further survived by numerous cousins and extended family and friends.

Limited visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Holy Rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m. at Palmer Mortuary. Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and interment will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery.

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions the funeral home has a capacity of 45 guests in the chapel. We ask that all guests attending services at the funeral home and at the church wear a face covering and that social distancing of 6 feet is maintained.
