Gustavo is preceded in death by wife Celedonia Suarez.

He is surivived by wife Gloria Maria Lara Suarez; daughters Pauline Hernandez and Juan Hernandez, Sally Suarez; step son Santos Munoz; grandchildren Michael John Hernandez, Paul Patrick Hernandez, John Amador, Marie, Laura Ann, Yolanda; 11 great grandchildren; step grand daughter Alexandria Munoz.
