Henry L. Curtis born in Oblong, IL. on January 05, 1922 passed away Tuesday, May 04, 2010 at the age of 88. A loving kind generous husband, father, grandfather and greatgrandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Crystal Kay Curtis children, Stephen Curtis and wife Karen, daughterinlaw, Bonnie Curtis grandchildren, Matthew Curtis, twins Jacob and Emily Curtis, Julia Curtis and Jeremy Curtis great grandchild Aubrey Curtis nieces, Louise Purcell and husband Gene and Roberta Beals and husband Marshall and a very dear friend Wil Hanson. He is preceded in death by his son Michael Curtis.
Henry was an Ingot Plant General Supervisor at Alcoa for 35 years in Davenport, Iowa and admired by all. Graduated from High school in Oblong, IL. then went on to attend Texas AM University and went into the Military Service War as a Naval Pilot. Henry Curtis received his commission in May of 1942 at Pensacola, Florida. Served in Saipan and Okinawa as a Sea Plane Pilot. He received the DFC Asiatic Pacific ribbons, four battle stars, Philippine Liberation ribbon and American Defense and victory medal. Henry was in the service for 5 years and was a flight instructor after the war. Henry was a life long avid golfer, pheasant hunter and Brittany Spaniel trainer. Henry married Crystal Kay Hall in Davenport, Iowa at St. Marks Lutheran Church on June 29, 1946 and were married for 64 years. Kay was an RN Supervisor at St. Lukes Hospital in Davenport, Iowa. Henry and Kay have been baptized and members of the Seguin Church of Christ for many years.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 07, 2010 from 5:00 PM 7:00 PM at Palmer Mortuary Chapel. A Chapel Service will be held Saturday, May 08, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Palmer Mortuary with Rev. Alan Tullis officiating. Interment to follow in San Geronimo Cemetery.
