Irene Irvin

Irene Vega Irvin, age 66, went to be with our Lord, in Luling, Texas, on Wednesday, August 16, 2017, after a long battle with lung cancer. She was born on April 6, 1951, in Seguin, Texas to Alejandro and Elia Vega. She was the fourth oldest of thirteen children.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alejandro and Elia Vega; sisters, Lucy V. Garcia, Elena V. Garcia and baby brother Steven Vega.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Irvin; siblings, Alex Vega Jr., Gloria Castellon (Tomas), Mary Alice Melchor (Larry), David Vega (Josie), Ester Villanueva(Reynaldo), Rosemary Mercado (Mario), Richard Vega, John Steven Vega (Theresa), Elizabeth Pineda (Luis); Bella, her loving Chihuahua and numerous extended family.
After her graduation from Seguin High School in 1969, she was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone and Motorola.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Palmer Mortuary Chapel from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Seguin, Texas.
Many thanks and appreciation goes to the caring and loving physicians, Dr. K. Patel, Dr. J. Alvardo, Dr. J. Arenas and supportive staff at Warm Springs Specialty Hospital in Luling, Texas, for all the kindness and compassionate care Irene received as she complete her earthly journey. "A loving feeling of home away from home."
