Isaac George Henderson, of Seguin, had his homecoming, on Monday, July 25, 2016 at the age 100. He was born in Gonzales, Texas, to Buster N. Henderson and Annie Miller. He married Neris Broadnax on December 19, 1936 and they had 14 children.
He is preceded by his daughters, Delores Stanfield, Mozelle Fitzgerald, Evelyn Simpson, and one son, Simeon Henderson.
Survivors include his wife of 79 years, Neris Henderson, his children, Doris Williams, Lesie Lampkin, Willie Henderson (Shirley), JC, Linda, and Arthur Henderson, Brenda Miller and (Jesse); 20 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren, and a host of brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews, and friends, to celebrate his life, of 100 years.
Isaac was a friendly man, that was well known and his friends sometimes referred to him as, "Horse," or, "Red." Hardworking, over the years, he helped build the Palace Theatre and his own house. Out in the country, at his home, he loved to garden and even stayed active in his older years, tending to it. He also owned many animals including: cattle, chickens, hogs and his beloved dog, Buck. Throughout the years, Isaac, collected pecans, climbing up the trees and thrashing them for the harvest. He also served as a Deacon for over 50 years at Bethel Pentecostal Church. Isaac will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him.
