Isabel “Chavalito" Avalos was called Home to the Lord on Friday, January 29, 2021 at the age of 91. He was born to Pablo Avalos and Juanita (Luera) Avalos on November 19, 1929 in Seguin, Texas.
Chavalito as he known as by everyone was born and raised in Seguin, Texas. He loved going fishing and being outdoors. He enjoyed gardening and going out to the movies and to eat. He LOVED enchiladas. Chavalito was a smart man, he invented useful things out of any item he could find. He once invented a fishing pole out of a bamboo stick. He will be deeply missed.
He is preceded in death by both his father, Pablo and his mother, Juanita; brothers, Manuel, Andres, Marcelino and sister, Concepcion.
He is survived by his only brother, Pablo Avalos and his two cousins who took care of him, Carmen Valles and Petra Gonzales. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Palmer Mortuary followed by recitation of the Holy Rosary at 10:00 a.m. At the conclusion of the services everyone is asked to meet at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery for the interment.
Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, the chapel has a limited capacity of 50 guests at a time. As per CDC protocols social distancing of 6 feet is required and all guests attending services at the funeral home and cemetery are required to wear a face covering.
