James Albert Christy

James “Jimmy or Jimmito” Albert Christy of Seguin, Texas entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the age of 65. He was born to James Ronald Christy Jr. and Enilda Ines Abrego Christy on March 30, 1959. 

 James is preceded in death by his parents James Ronald Christy Jr and Enilda Ines Abrego Christy and grandparents James Ronald Christy Sr. and Thelma Campbell Christy and Francisco Abrego and Mariana Elisa Reyes Santamaria.

 He is survived by his siblings Steven Lee Christy and Silvia DeLourdes Christy; his beloved furry companions Tami and Rosemary; uncle Wilson Abrego and wife Ubaldina; aunts Patricia Christy Mills, Phyllis Bedsole, Divia Abrego Reyes and Guadalupe Abrego; cousins Nancy Baldwin; Victoria Bedsole Hann and children Chase and Grayson; Paul David Mills, wife Cheryl, son Joshua and wife Brittany and children Mason, Emma and Annalee; John Mills and wife Kim; Jurguen Abrego, wife Jennifer, and children Peyton, Isabela, and Gavin; Jassin Abrego, wife April and daughters Piper and Emery; Emigdio Perez Abrego; Tomas Emilio Perez Abrego, wife Maria Isabel and son Tomas; Lariza Bayliss, husband Scott and children Kaileb and Kaiana; Mayling McGowen, husband Kevin and daughters Morgan and Payton; dear friends and caregivers Jose, Rachel and Nathan Escobedo, Catalina McCrutcheon, Yolanda Iglesias, Lupe Rangel and Fabiola Sotelo. 

 James loved God, his family and friends. He was funny, kind and outgoing. He made friends wherever he went and had a contagious laugh. He loved cowboy clothes, boots and hats, dancing, listening to music, bowling, puzzles and giving hugs. Jimmy always spoke what was on his mind, sometimes loudly. He was stubborn and ornery two fine qualities he shares with various family members. He was not defined by his disability and was proud of winning numerous Special Olympics medals. James was famously known for his sweet tooth and healthy appetite. His favorite words were cookies, cake, hamburger, pizza, soda, and coffee. He will be missed and always loved “mucho grande.”

 Interment will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio is scheduled for Friday, February 7th at 10:45 am. 

 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Seguin Public Library and Special Olympics Texas.
