James Sims

James Earl Sims of Seguin went to be with the Lord and his loving wife on September 25, 2019 at the age of 83. James was born on November 24, 1935 to Sylvester Eugene Sims and Irene (Crisenberry) Sims in Terre Haute, Indiana.

James is preceded in death by his wife, Della Lorene Sims; both parents; daughters, Amy Sims Page, and son, Matthew Sims and 14 siblings.

Left to cherish his memories are his daughters, Vanessa Sommer and Patricia Long; grandchildren, Heidi Sims, James D. Sims, Carolyn Page, and Crystal Page; 9 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and many relatives and friends.

James married Della Lorene Sims and to this loving union were born 4 children; Matthew, Amy, Vanessa, and Patricia. James loved the outdoors and loved his dogs and cats. He was known for always giving a helping hand to anyone in need. He was very well known in Seguin in his early days when he would go around the community washings windows. When he went around you could bet he would always be wearing his famous black cowboy hat. If James wasn’t wearing that cowboy hat then you wouldn't know it was him. James was a family man he loved his wife, children and grandchildren unconditionally.  He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
