Obituary

Janice Sue Sledge Love, 65, ended her ten year battle with Dementia and departed this life and into the hands of God on January 1st 2008. She was Born August 15, 1942 to the late Robert and Nell Sledge in Opelousas, Louisiana. Raised in Glenmora, Louisiana, she married Richard Anderson Love of Mount Pleasant, Tennessee on August 1st 1959 in Alexandria, Louisiana. She then traveled the world with him in an Air Force career spanning 40 years before retiring in Seguin, Texas. She had a loving personality that brightened any room. Always giving to others, she devoted thousands of hours to various charitable, public service and relief organizations. A Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, housewife, dental assistant, bank officer, private pilot, artist, musician, and friend to anyone in need, she will be sorely missed. In addition to her husband of 48 years, Richard, she is survived by daughters Donna Regina Love Dodds of Lakeway, Texas, and Angelia Dawn Love of Antioch, Tennessee; Grandchildren Lisa Schra, Manitou Springs, Colorado, Jeremy Evans and James Dodds of Lakeway, Texas, and Great Grandsons River Evans of Lakeway, Texas, and Xavier Evans of Hawaii. Also surviving are her brothers Robert Sledge of Texas City, Texas; Gregory Burns of Dickinson, Texas, and sisters Patricia Shaffer, Houston, Texas, and Sandra Burns, Rio Dosio, New Mexico.

A memorial service for Janice will be held at Palmer Mortuary, 1116 North Austin Street, Seguin, TX on Monday, January 7, 2007, at 2:00 PM.
