Jesus H. Montañez, affectionately known as "Boy," peacefully departed this life on November 2, 2024, at the age of 82, in Seguin, Texas. Born on February 27, 1942, in Guadalupe County, Texas, Jesus lived a life filled with love, dedication, and service to his family and community.
Jesus enjoyed a long and fulfilling career, proudly retiring from Guadalupe County Road and Bridge after many years of hard work and commitment. His contributions to the community and the bonds he forged with his colleagues are a testament to his strong work ethic and character.
He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Esther Flores Montañez, who will forever cherish the memories they created together. Jesus is also survived by his beloved sisters, Esther Valdez and Rosa Landin, and his brother, Joe Montañez, all of whom were an integral part of his life. He leaves behind his children, Erlinda Sosa and her husband Ray, Jesus Montañez Jr. and his wife Cynthia, Johnny Montañez and his wife Sarah, and James Montañez and his wife Jeanette. Additionally, Jesus is remembered fondly by his stepchildren, Mary Hart and her husband Jeff, Cynthia Montañez and her husband Jesse, and Flavio Solis Jr.
The legacy of Jesus H. Montañez extends to his cherished 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, who carry forward the love and values he instilled in his family. His warm spirit, kind heart, and unwavering support will continue to reside in the hearts of those he loved.
Visiting hours will be at Palmer Mortuary on Thursday, November 7, 2024 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m.
Visiting hours will continue at Palmer Mortuary on Friday, November 8, 2024 starting at 8 a.m. and a procession will depart the chapel at 9:30 a.m. to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at San Geronimo Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tony Landin, Jesus Montañez Jr., Chris Lozano Jr., Randy Sosa, David Montañez and Daniel Caballero
As we celebrate the life of Jesus H. Montanez, we honor his contributions to his family and community, recognizing the indelible mark he leaves behind. His kindness, strength, and dedication will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
