John Barfield

John Preston Barfield "Boulder," of Nixon, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at the age of 72. He was born to John William and Flora Mae Bean Barfield of Stringtown, Texas on December 3, 1942 in Temple, Texas.

He graduated from Rogers, Texas in 1961 and attended Tarleton State College for a short time. John had a career in driving trucks both local and long-haul, operating heavy machinery for 35 years. He finished his working years by selling produce at farm markets for Bush Produce of Stockdale, Texas.

Preceding him in death were his parents, two sons, John Garry and Terry Lee Barfield; in-laws, Hugh and Lille Robinson; and brother-in-law, Clifton Robinson.

Survivors include his wife Lillie Ann Robinson Barfield of Nixon, daughter Vickie Ann Jonas of Temple, brother-in-law Thomas Robinson and wife Mary of San Antonio, sister-in-laws Shirley Sanders and Karen Robinson of Nixon; as well as five nieces and nephews, numerous cousins and friends.

A Memorial Service and Inurnment will be held at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple, Texas on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 2:00 p. m.
