John Cecle Fleming Sr. of Seguin, Texas peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 10, 2019 at the age of 92. He was born to Woody Lester Fleming and Ethel Beatrice Rose Fleming on March 24, 1927 in Lauderdale, County Alabama.
He is preceded in death by both of his parents; his wife of 64 years, Janie Wheeler Fleming; his brothers, Gather Fleming, Preston Fleming, Chubb Fleming, Sam Fleming, Otto Fleming, Dee Fleming, Bill Fleming and his sister, Joyce Fleming Nafe.
He is survived by loving wife, Matricia Ann Fleming; his children, John C. Fleming and wife Freda, Brenda Cates and husband Elmer, Lester Fleming and wife Melinda, Debbie VanBuren and husband Rick; his brother, Jesse Fleming; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild and a host of other extended family and friends.
John very much loved his beautiful country. He was extremely proud to have served in the Merchant Marines. At one time was a commander in The American Legion Post 245 and was a proud member of it as well. He was a true servant of God and served in his local church.
A Celebration of Life will be held on December 28, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at McQueeney Baptist Church in McQueeney, Texas. Officiating will be Pastor Dale Jones.
