In loving memory of John Valentin Gonzales Sr., known as "Garzilla” or “Gonzo”. John was born on September 22, 1968, in Seguin, where he began his journey that touched the lives of so many.
With 20 years at Gunckel Custom Cabinets, John's skilled hands and creative mind brought beauty and masterpiece to his work. His dedication to his craft was unmatched, leaving behind a legacy of art.
John's role was a protector and defender for his friends and family. He was the phrase "Life of the Party", bringing joy and laughter wherever he went.
John's hobbies included BBQs, fishing, and most importantly, spending time with his beloved family. He was a husband to Wendy Gonzales and a proud father to Kristian John Gonzales, Joe Anthony Gonzales, Jonathan Val Gonzales, Maryhelen Gonzales, James Val Gonzales, and John Valentin Gonzales Jr.
On July 14, 2024, in Seguin, John Valentin Gonzales Sr. took his last breath after fighting with unwavering strength. His proudest accomplishment was always giving a helping hand to others in need.
He is now reunited with his father Valentin R Gonzales who passed before him. Left to cherish his memory are his dear mother Guadalupe Gonzales; nieces Francis R. Gonzales, Erica M. Navarro, April A. Acuña; Nichole Moreno; nephew Ryan W. Navarro; sisters Mariana G. Leal, Rita Ann Moreno, Irene G. Saucedo; as well as numerous grandchildren and friends who will miss him dearly.
In honoring the life of John Valentin Gonzales Sr., we remember a man whose warmth and generosity touched the hearts of all who knew him. May he rest in peace knowing that his spirit lives on in the memories he created with those around him.
The Holy Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. A Memorial Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. All services will conclude at the church on Saturday morning.
