John Bud Meredith was born on November 30, 1936 and died on July 4, 2010. He is survived by his wife Donna, son Dennis L. Vlasek and daughterinlaw Cy, son Willy Vlasek and daughterinlaw Becky, daughter Shaleah L. Hill and soninlaw Doug, Daughter Jill Reed and soninlaw Manning. He is preceded in death by daughter Pamela Ann Vlasek, father John Bowie Meredith Sr., mother Ester Margaret Meredith, brother Daniel T. Meredith, and sister Sandra Lewis. Bud is a graduate of Hooks High School in Hooks, TX. Upon graduation he enlisted in the army reserve. He attended Texarkana College, Texas AM University, and earned a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 1968 Bud went to work with Brown Root in Houston, TX where he was assigned to the space program at NASA. Through the years he worked on numerous projects. His last years he was supervisor of the drafting department. He retired after 30 years of service in 1997. Bud and Donna left Houston to live in McQueeney, TX where he has lived for the last 13 years. Through the years Buds hobbies have included sailing, collecting coins, and corvettes. The love of his life was God, his wife, the blessings of his grandchildren and great grandchildren, many corvette friends, and the McQueeney Baptist Church. A memorial Service will be held on Saturday July 10, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at the McQueeney Baptist Church, FM 78 Shuman Road, McQueeney, TX 78123.
