Jose L. Veliz

Jose L. Veliz, a treasured husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by his beloved family on January 25, 2025, in New Braunfels, Texas. Born on August 28, 1952, in Sabinas Hidalgo, Nuevo León, Mexico, Jose lived a life filled with laughter, love, and cherished memories.

For 53 wonderful years, he was the devoted husband of Mayla T. Veliz. Their partnership was a beautiful testament to enduring love, marked by shared joys and countless moments spent together. Jose was a loving father to his daughter, San Juana Veliz, who held a special place in his heart. He found immense happiness in spending precious time with his grandchildren: Jose Ruiz (Destiny Aguilar), Luis Veliz, Anthony Veliz, and Melanie Ruiz. The joy of being a grandfather was evident in his eyes as he watched his four grandchildren grow and thrive, creating memories that they will carry with them forever. In addition, he was blessed with seven great-grandchildren, who brought an extra layer of joy into his life.

Jose was not only known for his loving spirit but also for his infectious personality. He had a natural gift for humor and loved to make those around him laugh. His lightheartedness and ability to find joy in the simplest of things made him a beloved figure in his family and among friends. As a true homebody at heart, Jose found delight in watching old western movies, allowing his imagination to wander through the tales of adventure and camaraderie.

He is survived by his siblings, Martin Veliz, Juan Veliz, Yolanda Escamilla, Alma Veliz, and Maria Aurora Veliz, who will surely miss the warmth and laughter he brought into their lives. Jose's life, while it may have come to an end, has left behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience, one that will resonate in the hearts of all who knew him.

Jose's journey was preceded by the passing of his parents, Catarino Veliz and Maria Flores, as well as his sisters, Martha Rodriguez and Marina Zapata. Their memories live on within him and in the stories shared by his family.

A visitation in honor of Jose will be held on January 31, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Palmer Mortuary & Cremations in Seguin, Texas. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at 12:30 PM, with interment to follow at 2:00 PM at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park in New Braunfels.

As we remember the life of Jose L. Veliz, let us celebrate a man who loved deeply, laughed freely, and cherished each moment spent with family. His spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives he touched, and he will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.

José L. Véliz, esposo, padre, abuelo y amigo, falleció en paz junto a su querida familia el 25 de enero de 2025, en New Braunfels, Texas. Nacido el 28 de agosto de 1952 en Sabinas Hidalgo, Nuevo León, México, José vivió una vida llena de risas, amor y recuerdos entrañables.

Durante 53 maravillosos años, fue el devoto esposo de Mayla T. Veliz. Su relación fue un hermoso testimonio de amor duradero, marcado por las alegrías compartidas y los innumerables momentos que pasaron juntos. José fue un padre cariñoso para su hija, San Juana Veliz, que ocupaba un lugar especial en su corazón. Encontraba una inmensa felicidad en el tiempo que pasaba con sus nietos: Jose Ruiz (Destiny Aguilar), Luis Veliz, Anthony Veliz, y Melanie Ruiz. La alegría de ser abuelo era evidente en sus ojos mientras veía a sus cuatro nietos crecer y prosperar, creando recuerdos que llevarán con ellos para siempre. Además, fue bendecido con siete bisnietos, que trajeron una capa extra de alegría a su vida.

José no sólo era conocido por su espíritu cariñoso, sino también por su personalidad contagiosa. Tenía un don natural para el humor y le encantaba hacer reír a los que le rodeaban. Su desenfado y su capacidad para encontrar la alegría en las cosas más sencillas le convirtieron en una figura muy querida en su familia y entre sus amigos. De corazón hogareño, José se deleitaba viendo viejas películas del oeste, dejando volar su imaginación a través de las historias de aventuras y camaradería.

Le sobreviven sus hermanos Martín Véliz, Juan Véliz, Yolanda Escamilla, Alma Véliz y María Aurora Véliz, que sin duda echarán de menos la calidez y la risa que trajo a sus vidas. La vida de José, aunque haya llegado a su fin, ha dejado un legado de amor, risas y resistencia, que resonará en los corazones de todos los que lo conocieron.

El viaje de José fue precedido por el fallecimiento de sus padres, Catarino Veliz y María Flores, así como de sus hermanas, Martha Rodríguez y Marina Zapata. Sus recuerdos viven dentro de él y en las historias compartidas por su familia.

La familia recibirá el pésame el 31 de enero de 2025, de 10:00 AM a 12:30 PM en Palmer Mortuary & Cremations en Seguin, Texas. Después de la visitación, un servicio funerario comenzará a las 12:30 PM, con entierro a seguir a las 2:00 PM en Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park en New Braunfels.
