Jose M. Iglesias “Chema” of Seguin, Texas was called home to the Lord on Friday, August 28, 2020 at the age of 60 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born to Jesus Iglesias Rodriguez and Augustina Gonzales Soto on January 11, 1960 in Ciudad Canatlán, Durango Mexico.
“Chema” as he was known as by everyone was a great man, husband, father and grandfather. He was loved by many and was respected by all. He was extremely smart and very selfless. He did whatever he could to help someone in need. He had no fear and had an extremely big heart. He was an amazing mechanic and could do so much more than that, he was a true Jack of all trades. He will be dearly missed by all.
Left to cherish his memory is his parents, Jesus Iglesias and Augustina Gonzales; his wife of 26 years, Yolanda Ramirez Iglesias; his children, Fernando Iglesias and wife Ashley Iglesias, Jasmine Luna Iglesias and husband Christian Luna. Jonathan Iglesias and Laura Iglesias and husband Brian E. Ardon; grandchildren, Lily AnnMarie Iglesias, Melody Rae Iglesias, Neomiah Zane Luna, Isaiah Jose Luna, Eddie Garcia, Leslie Garcia, Brian Ardon and Litzy Acosta; his brothers and sisters, Lourdes Iglesias, Bernardo Iglecias, Maria Martina Gomez, Maria Iglesias, Salvador Iglesias, Fernando Iglesias, Maria Del Carmen Aguilar and Emilio Gonzales. Jose is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
A walk through visitation will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. due to the capacity limitation in the chapel the family asks that the recitation of the Holy Rosary remain for only immediate family at 5:00 p.m. at Palmer Mortuary. Everyone is invited to join the family for a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Friday, September 4, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery.
Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, we ask that those attending please walk through and pay your respects to allow everyone the opportunity to visit with the family as the funeral home chapel can only accommodate 45 people at a time. As per CDC protocols social distancing of 6 feet is required and all guests attending services at the funeral home, church and cemetery are asked to wear a face covering.
