Jose “Joe” Vasquez was called Home to be with the Lord on September 30, 2022, at the age of 80. He was born on June 25, 1942, in Marion, Texas.
Joe as everyone called him was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed exercising and loved his dogs. He was a very hard worker; He owned his own construction business and owned and managed several properties around Seguin. He worked at Acme Brick for quite a while from 1981 to about 2005. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Juanita “Janie” Vasquez; parents, Demacio and Amelia (Mendoza) Vasquez; brothers, Francisco M. Vasquez, Fidencio M. Vasquez, Juan M. Vasquez; sister, Francis Vasquez-Perez and stepsister, Maria Robledo.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Jose Valdez, Evangelina Lopez and husband Eddie Mendez; grandchildren, Brandy Lopez, Carlos Herrera (Jelicia Sanchez) and Ruben Pilato and husband Anthony.
Visitation will be at Palmer Mortuary on Thursday, October 6, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. by Deacon Nick Carrillo. Funeral Mass will be on Friday, October 7, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and Interment will follow at San Geronimo Cemetery.
All friends and family are asked to meet at the church after the final viewing on Friday and are asked to meet at the cemetery after mass as there will not be a funeral procession.
Pallbearers will be Carlos Herrera, Roy Medrano, Philip Garcia, Alex Urdialez, Jaydon Gonzales and Roman Flores.
