Josephine "Josie" Herrera

Josephine Juarez Herrera, better known as Josie, 63, passed away on July 20, 2019. She was born on August 30, 1955 in Seguin, TX.

Josie was known for being an avid Bingo player at some of her favorite places which included the American Legion and the Fiesta Ballroom. She had a passion of baking, arts-n-crafts, playing dominoes, and music. She not only raised three beautiful children, but she was a mother to many of her nieces, nephews, and children’s friends. She was kind-hearted, helpful, and she will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Antonia Juarez; her sister, Janie Juarez; her aunt, Carmen Johnson; uncle, Ted Van Johnson Sr.; uncle, Pablo Alvarado; and nephew, Mark Anthony Guerra.

Josie is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Julio Herrera of Seguin, TX; daughters, Juanita “Janie” Herrera Frederick and husband Greg of Houston, TX, and Julia Herrera and partner Jerry Infante of Seguin, TX; son, Marcos Antonio Herrera of Seguin, TX; grandchildren, Cielo Angel Infante and Arturo Daniel Infante; brother, Manuel Juarez Sr. and wife Virginia of Poth, TX; sister, Lionor “Nora” Juarez and partner Cayo Lopez of Seguin, TX; uncle, Frank Alvarado and wife Cindy of San Antonio, TX; aunt, Mary Alvarado of Seguin, TX; several nieces, nephews, numerous cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held at Palmer Mortuary Chapel on Thursday, July 25, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at the Palmer Mortuary Chapel on Friday, July 26, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with services concluding at Palmer Mortuary.

The family requests guests to wear any shade of blue clothing for both the visitation and for the funeral service, as it was Josie's favorite color.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Palmer Mortuary and Cremations.
