Ltc William Cuzick, Us Army (Ret.)

LTC (Ret.) William Theodore (Ted) Cuzick, of Stockdale, Texas joined his loving wife, Martha in heaven on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at the age of 88.

Ted was born to William Edgar and Sallie Bell (Pierce) Cuzick on February 28, 1932 in San Angelo, Texas. He graduated from Hardin-Simmons University (1954) where he served in the Texas National Guard, then was commissioned into the US Army in 1955.  One of his first assignments was in Heilbronn, Germany where in 1958, Ted married the love of his life Martha and soon after returned to the United States to continue his career in the US Army and journey with his wife and growing family.  During the next 25 years, he was assigned to numerous locations to include Ft Richie, Maryland; Fort Sam Houston, Texas; Little Rock AFB, Arkansas; Monterey, California; Wurzburg, Germany; Fort Bliss, Texas; Camp Kuwae, Okinawa; and back to the Health Services Command at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.  He spent a year in Vietnam as a Medical Advisor to the South Vietnamese Army.  He also earned his Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration in 1975 from Baylor University.  Ted retired in 1983 after more than 30 years of service to our great Nation.  During his military career, he earned many awards and decorations to include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, and Meritorious Service Medal.  After the Army, he worked for the Valero Company as an IT Specialist.  In 1996, Ted retired from Valero and he and Martha moved to their ranch in Stockdale to enjoy life in the country and to continue to pursue his many interests, talents and hobbies of which he had many. Ted was an avid traveler, camper, hunter, fisher, boater, sea cruiser, rancher, mechanic, and craftsman. He also had a great love for music and was a voracious reader. Above all, his highest love was for his wife and five children, sixteen grandchildren and great-grand son. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

Ted is preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Martha Theresia Cuzick.

He is survived by his children, Lt Col (Ret. USAF)William E. Cuzick and wife Julie, Brigit Cuzick Lucas, Ingred Cuzick Lathrop and husband Rick, Yvonne Cuzick Bukowski and husband Charlie, and Christopher T. Cuzick and wife Leslie; grandchildren, Anaka Davis, Samuel Cuzick, Chase Cuzick, Neishelle Cuzick, Christopher Lucas, Stephen Lucas and wife Melissa, Christina Lathrop Moores and husband Ben, Teddy Lathrop, Zach Lathrop, Brandon Chance and wife Amanda, Ryan Bukowski and wife Kayleigh, Tyler Bukowski, Carter Bukowski, Victoria Cuzick Baldwin and husband Ross, Emily Cuzick and William Cuzick; and great-grandson Oliver Moores, as well as numerous friends of the family.

Ted will be laid to rest with full Military Honors at a private Internment Service on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas. Chaplain Roy Collins will officiate the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his honor to Guadalupe Regional Hospice Services for the exceptional care and compassion they provided him after the loss of his loving wife Martha. Donations may also be made to the USO.
