alignleftOn December 21, 2009, Angels descended from Heaven and freed Lucia Leal Rios from her earthly limitations caused by Alzheimersdisease and lovingly placed her in the arms of her Savior, our LordJesus Christ. Lucia lived her life as a loving and caring wife, mother, sister and daughter and touched many lives with her kind and gentle soul.

alignleftShe is survived by her loyal husband of 58 years, Augustin Rios, her beloved children, Martha Rios, Diana Rios-Hardell and spouse Andrew, George Rios and spouse Wendi, Jerry Rios and spouse Rebecca, her loving grandchildren Adrianne Valdez, and Austin, Audrey, and Avery Rios. She is further survived by her brothers and sisters: Lawrence Leal, Guadalupe Calderon, Adolph Leal, Richard Leal, Jesse Leal, Linda Sotelo, Eugene Leal and Esther Toscano. She will also be missed by many other family members and friends who loved her dearly. Lucia was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Maria Leal.

alignleftThe family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Monte Siesta Nursing Home with special thanks to Elizabeth and Sebastian, Hospice Austin and Christopher House for their care and compassion during her final years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to a charity of your choice or Christopher House, 2820 E. MLK Blvd., Austin, Texas 78702. Funeral arrangements handled by Palmer Mortuary, Seguin Texas. Visitation will be held Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009 5:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009 9:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. with a rosary Sunday at 7:00 p.m. to be held at Palmer Mortuary. A Mass will be held in her honor on Monday, Dec. 28, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church followed by interment at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery.
