Born on August 13, 1940, in St Martinville Louisiana, Denise's path in life was illuminated by her nurturing essence and profound commitment to serving others. Throughout her illustrious career, she donned various hats - from shaping young minds as a devoted teacher to providing compassionate care as a live-in home provider. Her legacy stands as a testament to her nurturing spirit and boundless dedication to making a difference.
Denise's vibrant personality was a captivating blend of warmth and strength. She welcomed all with open arms, infusing every gathering with lightness and joy. Her fun-loving nature made her the heart of every celebration, a beacon of love and laughter.
As Denise peacefully transitioned into eternal life on June 7, 2024, she was surrounded by boundless love. Her daughters, granddaughter, and great-grandson stood vigil by her side as she embarked on her next chapter, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
She is survived by her two daughters Alberta Anderson and husband Gerard Anderson; their three children Liza Anderson, Kathy Wooten, Glen Anderson; Carolynn Rozier and husband Richard Stevenson; Carolynn's four children Monica LeCompte, Diana Cariello, Rhonda LeCompte, Fredrick Rozier; along with 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Among those who preceded Denise in death are her father Paul LaSalle, mother Iris Lablanc, brother Harold LaSalle, Michael St. Julien, sisters Lois Calhoun, and Gloria-Ann Victorian.
In addition to her surviving family members are living siblings: Gwendolyn Olivier, Marie Bernard, Bernadine Miller, Linda Patin; Jarvis LaSalle; Alvin-Butch LaSalle; Mona LaSalle; Nina LaSalle; Miranda LaSalle; as well as countless nieces and nephews who mourn the loss of this extraordinary woman.
Denise found solace in the pages of romance novels and the excitement of watching basketball games - cheering passionately for her favorite team, the Houston Rockets. Yet it was her love for old western movies that truly captured her heart - especially tales featuring Chuck Norris and cowboys in Wild West adventures.
Her proudest accomplishments were not only reflected in her career but in the joy brought into her life by her grandchildren. They held a special place in her heart - embodying the boundless happiness that filled her world.
As we bid farewell to Lydia Denise LaSalle in solemn reverence but also in celebration for a life well-lived, may we carry forward the light she shone upon us all.
