Manuel Cantu

December 27, 1945 — October 2, 2018

Manuel Rosales Cantu, of Seguin, passed away after a long illness, on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at the age of 72. He was born on December 27, 1945 in New Braunfels, Texas to Eduardo S. and Benita Cantu. Manuel served in the armed services of the United States Army in the 101st Airborne Division. Manuel married Yolanda 51 years ago in 1967.

He is preceded in death by his sons: Anthony Rene and Oscar Cantu; parents: Eduardo and Benita Cantu and brother: Edward Cantu.

Survivors include his wife, of 51 years, Yolanda, son: Manuel Ryan Cantu, grandchildren: Daniel and Kelly Cruz Cantu, siblings: Elvira Villareal and husband Rojelio of New Braunfels, Mary Ann Cantu, Alfredo Cantu and wife Sally of Utah, Juan Cantu and wife Elaine of Louisiana, Armando Cantu and wife Chavela, Reymundo Cantu and wife Louisa of New Braunfels, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Manuel was well known in Seguin and New Braunfels, as an insurance sales agent. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent his time golfing, fishing and camping. He was a loving husband, father and brother. He will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held at Palmer Mortuary Chapel on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 6:00 p. m. to 9:00 p.m., with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. the Burial will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Monday, with Military Honors to be rendered on October 15, 2018 at 1:15 p.m.
