Mareana Hawkins

Mareana Villarreal Hawkins passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones on October 10, 2021.

Long time resident of Seguin, Mareana was born on November 7, 1951, to Margarita Villanueva Villarreal and Manuel Villarreal. Mareana was one of 10 children. Her 6 sisters and 3 brothers worked with their parents as migrant farmers.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Margarita and Manuel Villarreal; her sisters, Maria Villarreal Hernandez, Margaret Villarreal Rayos, Irene Villarreal Alderette and her brother, Conrad Villarreal.

She is survived by her husband, Henry Hawkins; her sons, Adrian, and David Sauceda; her sisters, Gloria and husband Manuel Landin, Mary Lou and husband Frank Rayos, Petra Mireles and brothers, Manuel and Robert Villarreal.

She was dearly loved by everyone who knew her and leaves behind many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and family that will miss her deeply.

Mareana radiated the love of Christ with her generous and humble spirit. We take solace in knowing she knew her savior and though she will be missed, we know she is shouting “Victory” from the other side. Her greatest wish was for everyone she knew to receive salvation that we may all rejoice together one fine day.

Visitation will be at Palmer Mortuary on Thursday, October 21, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be at Palmer Mortuary on Friday, October 22, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. and a funeral procession will depart Palmer Mortuary for interment at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery.
