Maria Gloria Baez

Maria Gloria Baez, a loving soul who cherished her family above all else, peacefully passed away on July 11, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 96. She was born on April 21, 1928, in Laredo, Texas, to Florentino and Josepha Gutierrez.

Maria Gloria was a beacon of love and kindness throughout her life, finding joy in being surrounded by her family. Her warm nature and caring spirit touched the hearts of all who knew her. Maria's devotion to her family was unwavering and defined the essence of who she was. Her favorite phrases that will be forever cherished and remembered by her family were "Para Adelante, Para Adelante" which meant to only move forward; as well as "I Love You More!" 

Maria is survived by her daughter, Mariesol Baez, who will forever hold dear the memories they shared. She leaves behind a legacy through her 9 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and the youngest addition to the family, great-great-grandson Romeo Ramos.

Maria now joins her beloved spouse, Benito Baez; son, Arnulfo Baez; as well as her parents and siblings including Delfino Gutierrez, Santiago Gutierrez, FC "Chico" Gutierrez, Steve Gutierrez, Eugenio Gutierrez and Josefina Luna Gutierrez in eternal peace.

Among those left to mourn Maria Gloria's loss are her siblings: Maria Guadalupe Cervantes, Saturnino Gutierrez, Rosaura Martinez and Antolina De La Cruz. Their fond memories of her will continue to live on in their hearts.

Maria Gloria's life was a testament to love and family unity. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace knowing that she was surrounded by love until the very end.

Visitation will be held at Palmer Mortuary on Monday, July 15, 2024 from 5pm to 8pm the Rosary will be recited at 7pm

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 10am. Interment will follow at San Geronimo Cemetery.
