Mario A. Carrillo Sr. passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023 at the age of 65. He was born to Julian and Josie (Tellez) Carrillo on September 18, 1957 in Seguin, Texas.
Mario had a life that he lived to the fullest. He had the biggest heart that loved tremendously. His character, quick wit, sense of humor and laughter definitely left an impact on everyone he knew, and he was always the life of the party. Let’s not forget he had a special nickname for every single person he knew. Outside of that, he enjoyed watching his Dallas Cowboys, San Antonio Spurs and Houston Astros. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids whom he sincerely adored with his whole being. He will be greatly missed by many and forever be remembered for the love he gave. And in the words of Mario, “it’s all lovely”.
Mario is preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Josie Carrillo, and niece Eglena Diaz DeLeon.
He is survived by his children, Maurisa Carrillo Franklin (Terrence Brandon) and Mario Carrillo Jr. (Caitlin); seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one on the way; siblings, Julian Carrillo Jr. (Melissa), Esiquia “Atsy” DeLaGarza (Rey), Robert Carrillo (Sandy), Cindy C. Gutierrez (Charlie), Francis “Twiggy” Sassenhagen, Edith “Eydie” Rosales (Tony), Veronica Carrillo, and Frank “Sudie” Carrillo (AnaLaura) and numerous nieces and nephews.
