Mary Hernandez

Mary Ellen Hernandez of Seguin, Texas was welcomed to her Heavenly Home on January 23, 2020 at the age of 58. She was born on April 9, 1961 in Seguin, Texas to Pedro Rodriguez Sr. and Susie Lara-Rodriguez.

Mary was a beautiful and loving wife, daughter, mother and grandmother whose legacy will live on in all of those who continue to share her memories on earth. She loved Betty Boop and enjoyed her weekend rides by the water. She loved enjoying time with family especially looking forward to family BBQ's. She had a big heart and always opened her door for her family and always took care of others as if they were her own. She was a very strong woman, she fought the good fight in every sense of the word. She will be deeply missed by all of those who knew and loved her.

2 Timothy 4:7-8:

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.

She is preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Ramon Rodriguez and Emilia Leal-Rodriguez and her maternal grandparents, Aneclato Lara and Michila Lasano-Lara as well as her father-in-law, Lazaro Gomez.

Left to cherish and honor her memory are her parents, Pedro Rodriguez Sr. and Susie Rodriguez; her husband of 43 years of marriage, Robert Gomez Hernandez; her children, Robert Hernandez Jr. (Priscilla), Rene Ben Hernandez, Roger Hernandez (Reba) and Rachel Marie Davis (Zachery); her grandchildren, Robbie, Christian and Airyanna; her brothers and sisters, Pedro Rodriguez Jr., Carmen Gutierrez (Mario), Fabian Rodriguez (Ly Ann), Isabel Rodriguez (Johnny) and Diana Reyes (Luis). She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 27, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m and a Prayer Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Palmer Mortuary. Family and Friends are asked to meet at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church for a continued Visitation on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. followed by the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:00 a.m. and interment will follow at San Geronimo Cemetery.
