Meliton C. Herrera, Jr., of Seguin, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2016 at the age of 34. He was born in Orlando, Florida on June 17, 1981 to Meliton and Benita (Castillo) Herrera.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Ernesto Castillo, grandmother, Maria De La Luz Colunga Herrera, and uncle, Anselmo Castillo.
Survivors include, his parents, siblings, Francisco Herrera, Maria De La Luz Fernandez and husband Ector, and Irma Herrera; nephew, Julian Eduardo Fernandez, and nieces, Alyssa R. Fernandez and Aliannah B. Vega; grandfather, Hilario Herrera and grandmother, Benita Partida, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Meliton, a graduate from De Soto County High School, was kind, caring and a loving person; he was a great uncle and especially showed tremendous affection to his nieces and nephew. His laugh was contagious and could always be found as a voice of reason. He excelled in all that he put his hands to. He will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved him.
On Saturday, at 10:00 a.m., April 16, 2016, a Traditional Catholic Mass was held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and Meliton was laid to rest at Santo Tomas Cemetery.
