Oralia Marez

April 27, 1937 — November 20, 2020

Our beloved “Ama”, Oralia Marez was called home to the Lord on Friday, November 20, 2020 at the age of 83. She was born to Marcelino Garcia and Victoria Flores on April 27, 1937 in Nadadores, Coahuila, Mexico.

Oralia was known as “Ama” by all of her family and friends. She was a loving and strong woman who was extremely fearless throughout life. She loved babysitting and she loved children. She was a mother figure to many people who were taken care of by her. Although her parting leaves a void in our hearts we know that she is rejoicing in heaven with the Lord and we find comfort in knowing that one day we will be reunited with her again.

Oralia is preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, Melquiades Marez; daughters, Eloisa Rivera and Gabriela Marez; granddaughter, Jerrica Rivera and her brothers, Enrique Garcia and Fito Garcia.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Maria Acevedo and husband Lico and Melquiades Rivera and wife Tori; great-grandchildren, Dulce Rivera, Christina Rivera and husband Patrick, Lico Acevedo Jr., Jeremiah Acevedo, Santiago Acevedo, Jenesis Rivera, Jerric Rivera, Maximus Rivera and Baby Rivera on the way; great-greatgrandchildren, O’rrea Eloisa Gutierrez, Ava Gutierrez and Yasiel Puig Gutierrez; her brothers and sisters, Francisco Garcia and wife Martha, Armando Garcia and wife Alma, FlorEstela Gallegos, Leonor Garcia Ceniceros and husband Luis; son-in-law, Ramon Rivera. Oralia is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends as well as many children whose lives she touched by babysitting throughout the years.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 30, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service to begin promptly at 12:00 p.m. at Palmer Mortuary. At the conclusion of the service the family asks for everyone to meet at San Geronimo Cemetery as there will not be a funeral procession departing from the funeral home chapel.
