Pastor Lydia Garcia

Pastor Lydia R. Garcia was called home to be with Our Lord on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at the blessed age of 85. She was born on November 7, 1935 in McQueeney Texas.

Lydia married Pablo Garcia Jr. and they were blessed with three children: Rebecca, Richard, and Rachel. Then they responded to a higher calling of God to Ministry. They served as Pastors at four different churches throughout the state of Michigan and Texas. After Pastor Pablo was promoted into heaven, Pastor Lydia continued to preach the word of God, even to the uttermost part of the world; Honduras and Mexico to be exact. In 2009, she began a Women’s Prayer Group that was affectionately named the Golden Girls but were really, Mighty Prayer Warriors. She answered the call of God until her very last breath and the Lord received her and said, “Well done good and faithful Servant”. She was loved by her family and many, many more people that she impacted.

She is preceded in death by her parents Jose Ramos and Crispina Carmona; two grandsons, Ricardo Garcia Jr., and Johnny Salazar and her sister, Gloria Martinez.

Left to cherish her loving memory are her children, Rebecca Garcia-Acuña, Ricardo (Sara S.) Garcia and, Rachel Garcia (Tim) Zapata; grandchildren, Priscilla (Peter) Jones, Robert J. (Sylvia) Acuña, Rosalinda Garcia (William Goodwin), Sonia Garcia, Joey Hernandez, Carlos Garcia, Marcos Garcia, Crystal Miranda, Joe Salazar, Anthony Salazar (Wendy Bryan), Jordan (Leslie) Garcia, Joshua (Alex) Hernandez, Bianca Zapata and Jeseth (George) Sanchez; 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; one brother, Robert Ramos as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Prayer service to being at 6:00 p.m. at Palmer Mortuary. Visitation will continue Thursday August 26, 2021, at Palmer Mortuary from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. and a funeral procession will depart the chapel with interment Santo Tomas Cemetery.

Masks are required upon entering building and must be worn in the chapel AT ALL TIMES.
