Audry Garcia of San Antonio, Texas passed away on August 24, 2009, at the age of 85.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Ann Irwin Boyd
She is survived by her husband Leopold Garcia, sons Clayton Boyd and wife Martha of Richland Tx. and Thomas McCulley of Houston, Tx, Daughter Patricia Boyd Contreras of San Antonio, Tx, Grandchildren- Elizabeth Boyd Boetcher,Jason Boyd, Michael Boyd, Meghan Contreras, and Jillian Contreras and 4 Great-grandchildren Alex and Jayden Boyd and Kayla and Lauren Boetcher.
Patricia attended The Brisbane School for girls Sommerville House, and won a scholarship to the Julliard School of Music. Classically trained in voice and piano Patricia continued her musical interest throughout her life and was a past member of the Tuesday Musical Club. As well as her interests in the classical arts she had an extensive range of activities. She brought the first Afghan Hound dogs to San Antonio 45 years ago she breed and showed them all over the US. and Europe. Her interests further ranged in raising Arabian horses with her son Clayton and her beloved Longhorn Steer Worley. While her children were still at home she often volunteered her service to Keystone School as a last minute substitute teacher and drove the Keystone school bus to pay for her three children's tuition.
Patricia was a life member of the Daughters of the British Empire and as an only child living half a world away from family, her friends were considered her family and she loved them all.
The family would like to thank the following for their unfailing dedication to their medical profession and superb healthcare provided to our mother: Dr. Carlos Lozano and Nurse Judy, Dr. Socrates Arramburu, Dr. David Loyola and Dr. Norman Kaplan.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Donald Green, Carlos Lozano, Fred Previc, Mike Jester, Michael Boyd, Jason Boyd, Honorary Pallbearer Edward Linaberry.
Visitation will be held Wednesday-September 09, 2009 from 5:00 pm 9:00 pm at Palmer Mortuary Chapel. Chapel Service to be held Thursday-September 10, 2009 at 11:00a.m. at Palmer Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
