Reyes Leos Caballero, of New Braunfels, Texas, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at the age of 84. Reyes was born on January 6, 1937, to Pablo Caballero and Victoria Leos Caballero. After the death of his parents, he was raised by his aunt and uncle Roman and Maria Caballero. He is preceded in death by his parents: Pablo and Victoria; his surrogate parents: Roman and Maria; sister Bernarda, brothers Francisco, Fulgencio and Roman Caballero; grandchildren: Patricia A Caballero, Rene Rodriguez and the Crenshaw twins.
Reyes passed away peacefully surrounded by the comfort of his wife, children and sister. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Felipa Perez Caballero; children: Lolly Eulalia Caballero, Josefa Esquivel, Carlos Caballero (Tammy), Reyes Caballero Jr (Emma), Bernarda Rodriguez (Rene), and Jesus Caballero; grandchildren: Christopher Esquivel, Ernest Garcia II (Melissa), Jessica G Martinez (James Sr), Andrew Caballero (Sarah), Lisa Almaguer (Carlos), Roger Rodriguez (Rachel), Laura Garcia, Monica Caballero, Sara Pinilla (Jairo), Eric Esquivel, Serena Caballero and Rebecca Rodriguez; great grandchildren: James Jr, John, Jaelynn, Angelina, Aubriana, Timothy, Mia, Riley, Finley, Noah and Nayeli. He is also survived by his sister Guadalupe Cantu.
Reyes had a wonderful sense of humor and always enjoyed making others laugh. He never gave up on his faith. He loved to go dancing, fishing, camping and swimming. He enjoyed taking vacation trips and traveling for family fun and business. He was a businessman at heart, always pursuing different entrepreneurial ventures. In his early days, he was known for his fireworks stands and selling fireworks every season, selling watermelons at numerous locations, selling produce at his fruit stand store and working at his Rainbo Trim Shop (upholstery) business. He worked for the Comal Independent School District for 15 years and retired from there to continue traveling to many places and continue his business ventures. He enjoyed participating in Market days, Trade days and other business opportunities. He always enjoyed meeting people everywhere he went. He will be truly missed.
