Emblem

Rita Lee Holden, a beloved soul who graced the world with her vibrant spirit, left us on December 11, 2024, in New Braunfels, Texas. Born on July 10, 1965, in Denton, Texas, she was truly a force of nature. Rita was not merely a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, or a grandmother; she was the heartbeat of her family and a steadfast friend to so many.

Throughout her life, Rita’s warmth and strength enveloped everyone around her. Her home was a sanctuary where laughter echoed and memories were cherished. Always ready to welcome in family and friends, her door was perpetually open. Rita possessed an incredible ability to light up a room with her presence, and her quick wit and delightful sense of humor left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.

She was a fierce protector and a nurturing figure, embodying the essence of unwavering love. Her devotion to her husband, Steven Holden, was evident in every little thing she did. As a mother to Kristine (Robert), Rayann (Estevan), and Leslie (Tre), she inspired strength and resilience in her daughters. As a grandmother, she cherished every moment spent with her grandkids: Ismael Ray, Samaria, Stacy, Enrique, Chris, Eva, Sydni, Carter, Langston, Lilly, and Kristine, instilling in them the same unshakeable spirit that defined her life.

Rita's interests reflected her vivacious personality. She loved the beach, viewing it as her home away from home. Fishing and camping adventures with her grandkids filled her heart with joy. Music was her passion, and she was often found dancing and singing at the top of her lungs, channeling her inner Tina Turner with every note. Her unwavering support for her Dallas Cowboys showcased her spirited nature, and her love for her dogs was a testament to her caring heart.

Rita was preceded in death by her brother, Stacy Ray Serna. She leaves behind a legacy of love and courage that will forever resonate within her family and friends. Her mother, Esther Brooks (Jerry), her father, Francisco Serna, her sisters, Judy Black, Vicki Jo Fellegy (Tim), her brothers, Frankie Dale Serna (Cassidy), Cody Serna (Crystal) and her cherished daughters and grandchildren, all carry forward the beautiful spirit that was Rita.

As we prepare to say goodbye to this extraordinary woman, we invite all who knew her to join us in honoring Rita’s life. Visitation will take place on December 16, 2024, at Palmer Mortuary & Cremations in Seguin, Texas, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a heartfelt funeral service at 12:00 PM to celebrate her life. Rita will then be laid to rest at Cemeterio San Juan in Geronimo at 1:30 PM.

Though Rita Lee Holden may have departed from this world, her light continues to shine brightly in the lives she touched. She will be missed beyond measure, but her remarkable legacy of love, laughter, and strength will forever live on in the hearts of those she loved.
