In the morning of a Texas sunrise, Robert Saldivar esteemed patriarch, Aggie aficionado, entrepreneur extraordinaire~quietly folded his earthly storybook on March 13, 2024, in the quaint town of Seguin, Texas. He was born beneath the vast sky of Chihuahua, Mexico on September 26, 1935.
Robert known to many as "Berto" or "Bob", was known for his kind and loving nature, headstrong personality, who took great pride in his family, and had a wonderful sense of humor.
A proud graduate of Austin High School in El Paso, Texas. An Aggie through and through, he graduated from Texas A&M class of 1958 with the kind of spirit that could ignite the dullest of bonfires.
Bob's professional life was rooted in the agricultural sector, where he worked diligently on poultry farms and plants. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish Chlor Air, a sanitation business that not only demonstrated his work ethic but also his commitment to serving others.
In his free time Bob found joy watching football and spending time with his granddaughter Simone. The simple pleasures of life, such as a family barbeque were among his favorite moments, where his humor and love for his family were always on full display.
Bob leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter cherished by his surviving loved ones to include his daughter Shelly Saldivar Sposari and her husband Leon, daughters Christina Rye, Lisa Musella and Nina Chiolino and grandchildren Joseph (Rachel Theriot), Vincent and Simone Sposari, Bryant Kindrick, Courtney and Austin VanWeele, Ali and Shelby Rye, Paul and Frank Chiolino and great grandson Liam Sposari. His sister Queenie and her children Jimmy, Queenie, Debbie and Richard, his brother Duke, sister-in-law Nora and children Christina and Melissa, Shelly and Lisa’s mother, Alicia Moore, caregiver/friend Jason Mangan, friends Armando and Carmen Leal, and many other relatives and friends.
Bob's legacy is etched in the lineage of the Saldivar's and hearts of those who have gone before him; his father Roberto, his mother Queenie, spouse Barbara and spouse Elizabeth, brother-in-law Doug who now welcome him into the realm of memory and starlight.
In lieu of flowery blooms, let generosity take to "Friends of Dogs at Guadalupe County Animal Control", for Bob's heart was open to the bounds of canine companions.
Bob's memory will be held in the hearts of those who loved him as a testament to a life well lived, filled with passion, commitment and an enduring love for his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
