Santos Leal

June 1, 1929 — September 7, 2022

Santos G. Leal of Seguin, Texas passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on September 7, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones. Santos was born on June 1, 1929, to Santiago and Louisa Garcia and married her beloved husband Eliseo Leal at the age of 13. Together they had 6 beautiful children.

In addition to her parents and husband, Santos was preceded in death by her two sons, Jose Ramon Leal and Benito Leal Sr. She is survived by her daughter Diana Gil (Alfred); son Roberto Leal; son Ruben Leal Sr. (Pam); daughter Laura Ramirez (Juan); and daughter-in-law Mona Leal. Grandchildren: Ben Leal Jr., Carolyn Williams, Michael Leal, Cynthia Sauceda, Darius Gil, Melissa Jimenez, Andre Cortinas, Ruben Leal Jr., Marie Leal, Marcus Menchaca Jr., Krissy Menchaca, Johnathan J. Ramirez, and Ciarrah Ramirez, 27 great-grandchildren, and 32 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers Esperanza Splitter, Modesta Trevino, Jose Luis Garcia, Jose Manuel Garcia, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members, and friends.

Santos was a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She enjoyed the simplest pleasures in life, going to bingos, dancing, and cooking. She also enjoyed going on bus trips to casinos with her comadres. But the thing she enjoyed the most was spending time with her family and friends. She was one of the most stout-hearted, persevering individuals that you would ever know. She was always such a blessing to be around and was sure to put a smile on your face. We will dearly miss her, her cheerful attitude, bright smile, and home cooking.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022, from 4-8pm with a rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Palmer Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rev. Robert DeLong officiating.
