Shawn Matthew was an amazing son, brother, nephew, grandson, and friend. He was born in Austin, Texas on April 21, 2014, and passed away in San Antonio, Texas on June 2, 2024. He was surrounded by his family, and they did an honor walk off through the hospital as he was taken to donate his organs to save the lives of 75 children.
In his 10 years, he was a gifted Artist and student, loved by everyone he interacted with. He spent much of his schooling in the Round Rock ISD school system where he discovered his love for art, and even had his artwork displayed for the whole district to see.
Shawn had a love for music, especially Shawn Mendes, and would often be seen singing and dancing along with his sisters and mom. He loved superheroes, especially the Flash and Batman, and had an adoration for Pokémon, Pikachu being his favorite. He loved to draw pictures for his friends and family to show them how much he loved them.
Shawn lit up every single room that he walked into, always having a smile on his face, and willing to talk to anyone and everyone. He always had so much energy and was constantly running around trying see who was the fastest. He loved to be outside playing with his friends and his older sisters.
Shawn was a lover of all animals he was always playing with the family dogs and cats. He even rescued a cat that he saw was neglected, and helped nurse her back up to being healthy again.
He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Elsie Kay Nichols, Charles Wyatt, Daisy Wyatt and Ray Kilwien and his great-grandmother, Frances Mccomas.
He is survived by his mother, Jessica Walden and his father, Michael Saldivar; his sisters, Angel Walden, Savannah Walden, Aly Saldivar; aunt, Heather Olson; uncles, Charles Paul Wyatt, Trevor Wyatt, and Mathew Olson; grandparents, Melody and Wesley Wyatt; grandmother, Sheryl Saldivar and great-grand parents, Larry Nichols and Donna Kilwien.
Visitation will be held at Palmer Mortuary on Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and a Celebration of Life service will begin at 7:00 p.m.
