Vidal Guerrero, a beloved barber and dedicated community servant, passed away peacefully at the age of 80. Born and raised with a strong sense of faith and purpose, Vidal began his journey as a barber at just 17 years old at Randolph Air Force Base. His passion for the craft and commitment to his clients led him to open his own barber shop 30 years ago, where he became a cherished figure in the community.
A man of faith, Vidal Guerrero devoted his life to the Lord by being a deacon in the church and jail minister. He devoted 45 years to jail ministry, offering hope and guidance to those in need. His unwavering belief in the power of redemption inspired many, and he touched countless lives through his compassionate work.
Family was at the heart of Vidal’s life. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather, actively involved in his children’s and grandchildren’s activities. Neighborhood kids often gathered at his home to play, and he loved to barbecue for the community, fostering a warm, loving, and welcoming environment. He was known for giving countless rides to games, church, and events, ensuring everyone felt included supported. Whether coaching little league teams, attending school performances, or providing haircuts as a rite of passage, he poured love and support into every moment.
Vidal’s legacy of kindness, faith, and dedication will be remembered by all who knew him. He leaves behind a loving wife of 63 years, family, and a community forever changed by his presence.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Luis and Fransisca Guerrero; siblings, Ignacio Guerrero, Armando Guerrero, Baldermero Guerrero, Adam Guerrero, Adam Jr. Guerrero, Adela Hernandez, Olga Guerrero, Luisa Arce and Ocilla Garcia.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Dora Guerrero; children, Vidal Guerrero Jr. (Shelly), Mariano Guerrero (Linda), Brenda Guerrero (Martin), Barbra Guerrero and Priscilla Soliz (Juan); grandchildren, Vidal Guerrero III, Veronica Gutierrez, Stephanie Eller, Kaitlyn Flores, Mickayla Held, Marissa Schlesman, Adriana Guerrero, Josh Balderas, Israel Balderas, Nina Guerrero; great-grandchildren, Landon, Hailey, Allianah, Analisa, Juan Vidal, Alayna, Dean, Aurora, Kylie, Cara, Colt, Crew, Brynlee, Dillion, Sam, Owen, Oliva, Ava, Leana, Eliana and Gabriella; brothers, Luis Guerrero Jr. and Henry Guerrero as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Visiting hours will be from 5 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Palmer Mortuary. Sharing of memories will begin at 6:30 pm followed by a prayer service at 7 pm.
Visiting hours will continue at Palmer Mortuary on Thursday, October 3, 2024, beginning at 8 am and a funeral service will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow at San Geronimo Cemetery.
